First COST-G6 Workshop on Digital Audio Effects (DAFX98) November 19-21, 1998 Barcelona, Spain

WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT

The Audiovisual Institute of the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona organizes the 1st Workshop on Digital Audio Effects (DAFX98) that will take place in Barcelona from the 19th to the 21st of November, 1998.

The workshop is sponsored by the Action-G6 “Digital Audio Effects” of the European COST program and by the Pompeu Fabra University.

DAFX98 is an international meeting of researchers interested in the theory and practice of digital sound processing and its applications. The goal of the workshop is to offer both an overview of the field and an in-depth discussion of current research and future directions.

DAFX98 will include around 50 presentations that have been selected by an international scientific committee from the abstracts that were received from all around the world. In DAFX98 there will be presentations of specific applications, examples, software and hardware of interest to engineers, musicians, students, ... that whish to be up to date on the state of the art in Digital Audio Effects.

In DAFX98 there will be also the presence of commercial companies with their products. In the stands at the Exhibition Hall they will show their latest products related with Digital Audio Effects.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS

The deadline for DAFX98 abstract submissions was April 30th, 1998.

Thanks to all who have submitted their work to this First COST-G6 Workshop.

On June 30th we have sent the notification of acceptance of abstracts. You can check them here.

The deadline for paper submission was September 15th.

These are the formats for presentation:

Paper: 4 pages (A4) in the Proceedings, about 20 minutes for presentation
Tutorial: 8 pages (A4) in the Proceedings. about 30 minutes for presentation
Poster: 4 pages (A4) in the Proceedings. Poster session with 5 minutes introduction
